A UNIVERSITY STUDENT HIT BY A MOTORBIKE

A Moi University main campus, Eldoret, student was this morning seriously injured after he was hit by the over speeding motorist on the academic highway as he was heading for morning lecture.
The injured student was rushed in the university dispensary for first aid and later transferred to Moi and teaching referral hospital in Eldoret for further medication.
One of the students Kiplimo who witnessed the accident said that the motorist was moving at a very high speed after dropping a student near the lecture hall thus going to look for other passengers.
“The motorbike was moving in a high speed, the rider tried to escape the many students who were harrying for lecture but unfortunately he hit one of the students after the motorist become unable to control the speed of the motorbike,” Kiplimo said.
The motorist escaped with minor injuries after the angered students started throwing blows on him.
“Investigations have begun to look for the person who caused the accident as he escaped but the motorbike is held in the security office,” the Moi university chief security officer said.
In Moi University it is illegal for the motorists transport students to the lecture halls but it has come to be a routine for the students who reside outside the institution hostel to use motorbikes as they walk a long distance thus forced to use them. During morning hours they rush to take students in lecture halls and in the evening they rush to pick students to their rooms. Due to this rush accidents have became tampered in the institution.

  2. wah! sorry we wish that student quick recovery. the security personnel should be sleeping on his job, if the school doesn't allow motorists why should they then be allowed to operate within the school.
