Moi university has fallen victim of frequent blackouts even after the vice chancellor addressed the student and informing them about the permanent and electricity problem solving.
Since 23rd February the day after vice chancellor address, Moi university has been experiencing blackouts especially the Soweto areas where most hostels are concentrated. this has catalyst the students to loot the small shops found in the University compound in demand for food and electricity problem to be solved as were promised.
This problem has caused more than thirty student to be suspended indefinitely. This happened at the end of second semester in the year 2014 when students were doing their end term exams. to make the matter worse some were fourth year students who were sitting for their last exam in the University. the cause of the suspension was the looting of the University shops and the "mama mboga's" business places.
Will this issue of power blackouts be solved in Moi University? Will the installation of the Soweto largest ever transformer solve this Problem? Time will tell let us watch.
